| My very first trip to Poland was over the Christmas Holiday.
I stayed with Greg's family for 2 weeks. I arrived on Christmas Eve
bearing presents. Here is their small tree surrounded by gifts.

| Christmas Eve dinner is very special in Poland. No meat is eaten
and many traditional dishes are served. Here we are just finishing the
second course. At the table are Greg's mother, father and brother.
You can see an empty seat set at the end of the table. This is
always set for any "visitor" to welcome them to your table.

| Instead of meat, Carp are traditional served. Here is a
look at our dinner - only the night before. Yum! Fresh fish!

|
| After a large dinner, it was time for opening presents!

| One of Pawel's best gifts was this army hat from his friends.
They decided he should be better prepared should he ever get run
down by a tram again!

| On Christmas Day, Greg and I walked around Old Krakow visiting churches.
Almost the entire country is Catholic, and they have large beautiful churches.
At Christmas time, every church sets up a Nativity. Here is one of
my favorites.

| We also spent some time wandering around the Medieval Market square
in Old Krakow. Here I am in the Rynek. Can you tell it is cold?

|
| Near a corner of the Rynek is the oldest church in Krakow.
The original foundations of this church can be dated to the 9th
century. It is St. Adelberts.
